MLCA Guarantee:
Our Guarantee is null and void if you do not take your new puppy to a licensed veterinarian within 14 days for a full examination. We sell our puppies with the appropriate amount of wormer and inoculations for their age. A puppy must continue to be inoculated several more times until he/she reaches the age of 16 weeks and then rabies is administered. If there is an issue within the first 14 days, we will need to be notified immediately and also receive a written document from your veterinarian with the issue.
Please see further items below regarding guarantee:
Seller’s Guarantee: Puppy(s) must be taken to a veterinarian within 14 days of transfer for guarantee to be valid. If within 14 days, of transfer of puppy(s) to buyer, the buyer finds the puppy to be medically ill by written confirmation with a detailed description of the issue from a licensed veterinarian, the buyer can return the puppy for a puppy of equal value when one is available. Cost of exams and tests are responsibility of buyer. If health problems or genetic defects are found to be present, buyer must consult with seller prior to having any treatments or surgery done. Buyer must provide seller with written diagnosis from examining vet and receipts. New owners agree to keep their puppy at home and away from other dogs, public places, parks and will use care in allowing others from outside their home to pet or touch the puppy until the puppy has completed all puppy vaccinations or 16 to 20 weeks as determined by your vet. This is to protect the puppy from exposure to parvovirus and other infectious illnesses. New owners will not enroll the puppy in obedience training classes until all immunizations are completed – usually at 16 to 20 weeks of age, according to the veterinarian’s schedule. Buyer agrees to spay or neuter the puppy at the age recommended by their vet. Buyer agrees that this puppy is sold strictly as a pet and will not be used for breeding. Buyer agrees to send proof of spay or neutering to the sellers with in 1 year of purchase. Genetic defects are covered by this guarantee for one year. A written examination from veterinarian must state that genetic defect exists and be accompanied by x-rays and other testing as appropriate. Buyer must contact seller for consultation, PRIOR to treatments or surgery for genetic defects, to review all possible treatments. With documentation by vet that is dated within 1 year of receipt of puppy that shows genetic defect, purchaser will either be given a replacement puppy or seller/MLCA will pay veterinarian (surgery) fees up to $500 after vet has documented genetic defect present, dating the documentation to be within the 1 year time period. Costs of exams, tests and any treatments, drugs or supplements are responsibility of buyer. Any surgery performed (only after consultation with seller and both buyer and seller agree on treatment) MUST be performed within 2 years of puppy transfer. Any treatments, surgery or genetic issue taken action on after two years of transfer will not be covered by contract. Buyer must keep growing puppy at a healthy weight appropriate for its size; must prevent harmful exercise that strains or negatively impacts joints; must feed their puppy a nutritious and quality brand of dog food that is specifically formulated for small-breed puppies (see MLC website for suggestions).
First-time puppy owners agree to obedience train the puppy either with in-home trainer or obedience training classes. Experienced puppy owners agree to obedience train puppies either by refreshing knowledge with current training books and/or to attend obedience training classes with their puppy. Behavioral issues with children interacting with new puppies must be addressed.
